Rebecca Dotson is a NETA® certified personal trainer, AFAA® Group Fitness Instructor, and RRCA® Running Coach who has been in the fitness industry since 1994. Her career began in group fitness. Teaching group fitness classes was more of a hobby in the beginning. Finishing a college degree, pursuing a career as an elementary teacher, and then staying home to raise young children were the main focus for the first 19 years. As her children reached school age, she realized her passion was more in fitness than in the elementary classroom and, since 2013, she’s been instructing, coaching, training and living out her passion of helping others move forward in their health and fitness.
When teaching elementary school, one thing Rebecca found frustrating was NOT being able to meet the needs of each individual in her classroom. The desire to meet the needs of individuals led her to personal and small group training. Meeting clients right where they are and moving them forward from this place, tailoring programs to incorporate exactly what is needed for individuals or specific groups, is deeply fulfilling.
Rebecca has over two decades of experience, knowledge, and education in fitness. She has a B.A. in Behavioral Science from King University and a minor in Elementary Education. Along with the above-mentioned certifications, she holds certifications as a TRX® Suspension Trainer, Les Mills BodyAttack® Instructor, Resist-A-Ball® C.O.R.E. Level One Instructor, and holds current certifications in Adult/Child/Infant CPR as well as First Aid. Her specializations run the gamut from HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and circuit training to sports specific training, running programs, pre and postnatal conditioning, strength and cardiovascular training, and goal setting (establishment, planning, and implementation). She works with all populations—beginners to athletes, children to seniors.
Her personal achievements include completing the Boston Marathon in 2016, receiving the Huntsville Track Club 2014 Outstanding Performance Award, setting the Alabama 15K State Age Record in 2014 (which still stands), being a member of the Fleet Feet Racing Team since 2014, and being awarded the Bristol TN/VA Rotary Club 2002 Outstanding Teacher of the Year.
Rebecca and her two children reside in Huntsville, Alabama.
